About me
My name is Grant P. Bogart. I am a freelance programmer, full-stack web developer and student of the humanities. In 2025, I received my BA in History and Philosophy from the University of Tulsa, and a certificate in Classical Studies. My degree in History is currently being applied towards the study of legal histories, and I am ultimately working to obtain my juris doctor. My historical interest is generally focused upon classical antiquity, with particular regard for the Hellenistic period (335 BC – 1 AD). In spite of this, my interest actively transcends Europe and promotes the comparative analyses of concepts occuring throughout various civilizations, such as the concept of law.
It is important to clarify that I am not a professional historian. Like any academic discipline, a formal education in history carries with it a certain degree of credibility, and while said discipline tends to be rather open to those dedicated to its practice, I am forever indebted to the career historians whose scholarship has been crucial to the permission of individual research.
You should disregard all notions of confidence or elegance that this autobiography may exude, for I am nothing more than an uncertain and ill-experienced 21 year old. That is not to say that I will refrain from defending my opinions and the likes for so long as they continue to be reasonably defensible.
As a programmer;
I have some degree of experience with the following languages: C, C++, Lua, Java, JavaScript, Python, and PHP. The majority of my programming experience is directed towards constructing the backends of websites, however I have been designing static webpages since I was a young child, and can navigate around HTML and CSS standards in a proficient manner. Another large part of my experience has to do with the management of multiplayer game servers. Since 2013, I have operated Aedificium, an architecture-oriented server for the sandbox video game Minecraft. In 2018, I began working on esoBB, a fork of the [esoTalk] forum software designed to be lightweight and extensible while also containing improved security measures.
As such, I have garnered a lot of opinions about the application of technology in the modern world. My criticisms driven against technology tend to pertain to its practical implications (the colloquial meaning of the word “technology” is somewhat misleading in this regard) rather than the nature of the underlying principles upon which it is built. This is not to suggest that technology itself cannot be principally flawed; there are many such cases.
About murgleis.com
This website, murgleis.com, principally serves as home to several of my creative works. Almost everything on this website that isn’t explicitly credited to another individual has been written by myself and, in some instances, with the collaboration of others. In addition, there are a number of resources which I have stumbled upon over the years and later deemed worth being hosted online. The majority of these resources are technically outdated albeit none the less useful in the practical sense.
Contact me
I receive a lot of spam. For this reason, I have employed a spam filter that is somewhat extreme, and so I very well might not receive your message if your e-mail address does not end with the domain name of one of the big e-mail providers (Hotmail, GMail, Yahoo, etc.) or if you are sending from a private server with an IP address frowned upon by Spamhaus. Please know that I am not fond of this arrangement, but I have no other choice than to relinquish my individual rights to some third party such as Telegram or perhaps instead resort to physical mail.
